Three years ago our oldest son Gaje came home from school again... sad, frustrated, angry, exhausted. This was how he had felt for years. We were worried as we were sending him to a place where he was locked out and forced into a way of thinking that had an unhealthy effect on his mind, and on many others with him.
Traditional schooling is no setting for development. The assembly line structure, the lack of color, nature and creativity, learning little through much repetition, being taught things so unfitting to the world our kids are growing up in. It was damaging my sons health and self esteem.
Education is a human right and so important for our kids! Learning is an unstoppable need, once awoken, and it has to be nurtured as a gift in stead of being forced on our kids as a discouraging obligation.
Now, the worse thing is that we produced a library full of research confirming we are doing a shit job with our public education. We are not creating the surroundings for kids to prepare them for the versatile time they will be in when they finish school. They are being molded to the archaic dysfunctional system we have to get rid of.
This is why we made the boldest decision in our life; we started homeschooling. He now studies the subjects he is interested in and we supply information and enable him, give him the tools, to go on his endeavors.
He relaxed and is growing up to be an aware, caring, social, creative and venturous human being. Who says teenagers have to be angry at a certain age, that it is normal to hate adults? Maybe anger is the natural response to our educational system....

So let's give education the urgency it deserves and take this transforming energy, our human talent to adapt, into a green, open-minded, sustainable direction. Let's educate and organize our world according to what we know works and with an open mind to keep changing when needed. Let’s nurture generation fix-it. ...
