'It’s not the job of the artist to give the audience what the audience wants. If the audience knew what they needed, then they wouldn’t be the audience. They would be the artists. It is the job of artists to give the audience what they need.' (Alan Moore)
Somehow I feel 2020 was exactly this, not what I wanted, but what I needed.
Above all it felt like a humbling year. A year to sit still and reconsider, find new purpose, take in and transmit years of overdue emotions and ideas and to be bored. I feel boredom is such a great source for creativity. I have been so productive. 🙏
2020 also opened up a whole new realm of possibilities to connect and the digital social networks gave me horizons, not only to start new friendships, it helped me to share my stories and helped me to grow my art business.
I have had to open myself to be helped, to be loved, to be humble. I am part of this ecosystem of love and be loved, help and be helped, give and receive.
So, goodbye unforgettable 2020. And thank you for being a turning point teacher!
