There is so much to be grateful for every single moment of the day. Even in the most straining and difficult times of life, we can still find things to be thankful for! I know it is not always easy, but it can be done…
it is a mindset, a desire to be positive and open to perceive the beauty of existence in every single moment. So for me, (although it could be Thanksgiving any day of the year) I will celebrate Life itself today with a beautiful dinner, some good local wine and with lovely people! Happy Thanksgiving everyone

If you take a moment to observe and be open to this uniqueness you will be able to get richer and fuller experiences in Life. You could say that everything is art if you would only take the time to really look and see. That is the wonder and the joy you can see in young children; they are open and curious to perceive everything as art!

What I love most in life, besides being with my family, is creating art! I am the best version of myself when I spend time in my studio. It feels like stepping away from the world, entering my own magical bubble. As an artist I want to share the symbols that bring form to unspoken words and feelings and I love to spread the intentions that these pieces hold!

Yesterday we were driving and selected music for our son Luke’s memorial day. Today he passed away seven years ago. ⁠

I realized that in this picture you see not three but four brothers. ⁠
The love they radiate for Luke is beyond boundaries. Luke is our little skywalker. For our youngest son Lieven it is a brother he has never met in person. He feels sad about this, but he never questions that he has three brothers. ⁠
⁠
I feel deeply blessed that Arnout, and I and the boys can feel that golden warm love expanding through many dimensions and feel connected with Luke. He will always be part of our group, our tribe, our hearts.⁠

When I study the history of old authentic costumes from different cultures and countries, I can see so many similarities in expressions and details, forms and jewelry. It fascinates me to see that so many different ethnic groups and cultures use the same expressional, aesthetic language! You can find elements of this universal language take form in my art. Since we are still enjoying the Dutch Design Week I want to share some cultural heritage from The Netherlands; my very own roots!

When I study the history of old authentic costumes from different cultures and countries, I can see so many similarities in expressions and details, forms and jewelry.

15 years ago we started a new adventure and sailed our yacht from The Netherlands to the beautiful harbour of Barcelona. The journey took us six weeks in total and from the first moment I set foot ashore, Barcelona has been a never ending inspiration to me. This is a picture I made a long time ago and I can’t exactly remember on which corner of which particular street it was taken... But this is what Barcelona represents to me; everywhere you look you can find hidden gems and beauty out on the streets and ornaments carried as Jewels by buildings.
